Software procurement for public administrations is regulated by the EVB-IT. Thanks to updated model contracts, authorities will be able to obtain open source software as easily as proprietary hardware or software in the future. If authorities in federal, state or local authorities want to buy IT services, including hardware and software, this is regulated by the so-called EVB-IT.
The IT Planning Board has revised eight EVB-IT model contracts. With new software, open source becomes the standard, including deployment on OpenCoDE.
