- "An elderly couple lived upstairs," resident Andreas Martzaklis said, expressing uncertainty about their status. Emergency personnel rescued two women from an adjacent building and transported them to hospital.
- Emergency personnel sealed off Lysicratous Street as the explosion damaged shops, houses, and cars across the neighbourhood. Elsewhere in Greece, authorities safely evacuated all 29 people from a vehicle ferry off Mykonos on Friday.
- Located near the Temple of Zeus, the Plaka area remains a popular destination for tourists and short-term rentals. Neighbouring properties also sustained damage from the blast, with investigators continuing the search.
