European Vice President and Commissioner for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy Stéphane Séjourné has said that electric cars from Tesla or BYD can be turned off from Shenzhen (China) or from Austin (USA), which is complex in terms of security because we don't know what can happen in 20 years and where the world will be geopolitically.


The European Vice-President and Commissioner for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, Stéphane Séjourné, expressed on Thursday the need to combine economic and safety issues in European regulation, warning of the importance of clearly defining issues such as the components connected to the electric vehicle in view of the ability of foreign manufacturers to disconnect their cars at will.
