Red Hot Knicks Rout Sixers to Take Game 1
New York shot 63.1% and hit 19 3-pointers as Jalen Brunson scored 35 points and the Knicks took a 1-0 series lead.
On Monday, the New York Knicks overwhelmed the Philadelphia 76ers 137-98 in Game 1 of their NBA Eastern Conference semifinal series, with Jalen Brunson leading the rout to secure a 1-0 series lead.
The Sixers entered the matchup with just one full day of rest after completing their 14th comeback from a 3-1 deficit against the Boston Celtics on Saturday, while the Knicks arrived riding a four-game winning streak.
Shooting 63.1% from the field, the Knicks dominated as Sixers stars Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George struggled, combining for just 12-of-31 shooting against New York's effective defense.
Following the blowout loss, Embiid pleaded with Sixers fans not to sell their tickets to New York supporters as the Knicks led by as many as 40 points during the lopsided contest.
The Knicks will aim to double their series lead in Game 2 on Wednesday, while the Sixers face significant pressure to adjust before the series shifts to Philadelphia.
