British soldier who died in road crash in Ukraine has been named
The MoD said the crash was not hostile action and praised the 40-year-old intelligence officer as a gifted leader.

- Lieutenant General Matthew Jones, Colonel Commandant Intelligence Corps, described Wilks as "one of the most talented intelligence officers of his generation." His commanding officer praised him as "a man of great intellect, yet he remained a mate to those he served with."
- Described by the Ministry of Defence as a "proud family man," Wilks is survived by his wife and two sons. His commanding officer noted that Wilks spoke often of his gratitude for their support, which allowed him to serve with such distinction.
- A small number of British personnel remain in Ukraine to provide security to diplomats and support the country's armed forces. This role involves non-combat duties away from active hostilities, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defence.
