- The British Museum has banned visitors from taking photographs of the Bayeux Tapestry to manage crowd flow and reduce delays for ticket-holders. Curators reversed the initial policy after photography restricted movement through the exhibition.
- Depicting the events of 1066, the Bayeux Tapestry is on display in Britain for the first time. Demand for the exhibition has been unprecedented, with the museum recording more than £2.4 million in ticket sales in the first 24 hours.
- Visitors enter the sold-out exhibition in groups every 40 minutes and move along the 68m-long work in one direction. Photography-related delays prevented later ticket-holders from accessing the historic display.
- A British Museum spokeswoman said, "There has been enormous interest in viewing the tapestry, and our priority is to ensure that all visitors have the best experience possible." The restriction aims to improve access for all ticket-holders.
- On display in London until July 11, 2027, the embroidery will eventually return to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum in Normandy, France. It arrived following an unprecedented 350-mile journey from its home.
