Brewers Pour It on Early as Garrett Mitchell Leads the Way in 13-9 Victory over the Reds
Garrett Mitchell went 4-for-5 with four RBIs as Milwaukee scored all 13 runs in the first five innings and set a two-game franchise mark.
On Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds 13-9 at American Family Field, as center fielder Garrett Mitchell recorded four hits and four RBIs in the victory.
Milwaukee's 33 runs over the last two games set a franchise record, surpassing the previous mark from 1990, while the team holds a 93-56 record, the best in the major leagues.
Brice Turang and William Contreras also homered, capitalizing on Cincinnati starting pitcher Brady Singer's difficult outing in which he allowed eight runs over four innings.
With the victory, the Brewers extended their winning streak to five games and lowered their magic number for clinching the Central Division title to three.
The series finale on Sunday, Sept. 13, features Cincinnati attempting to avoid a sweep as right-handed pitcher Chase Burns takes the mound against the Brewers.
