Brewers Reinstate OF Jackson Chourio, 1B Andrew Vaughn
Milwaukee added two left-handed bats after the club entered Monday with 22 home runs, the second-fewest in the majors.
The Milwaukee Brewers activated outfielder Jackson Chourio and first baseman Andrew Vaughn from the 10-day injured list on Monday ahead of their series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Chourio suffered a hairline fracture in his left hand during a March 4 World Baseball Classic exhibition, while Vaughn fractured his hamate bone on Opening Day.
Milwaukee's offense ranks second to last in the major leagues with 22 home runs, having hit only four over its previous 17 games.
Both players completed rehabilitation assignments at Triple-A Nashville; manager Pat Murphy noted Chourio remained sore after fouling a ball off his foot on Saturday.
With an 18-15 record, the Brewers sit 3 1/2 games out of first place, with National League MVP Christian Yelich expected to return soon.
