Breece Hall injury update: Latest news on Jets RB's status in Week 3 game
Braelon Allen replaced Hall after the injury, and the Jets said the running back would miss the rest of the game.
On Sunday, New York Jets running back Breece Hall left the game against the host Detroit Lions on the opening drive of the fourth quarter with a thigh injury; ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the team ruled Hall out for the remainder of the matchup.
Hall sustained the injury on a second-and-goal run attempting to turn the corner before being knocked out of bounds by Detroit linebacker Trevor Nowaske, who made the tackle that forced him to grab his thigh.
Quarterback Geno Smith threw a touchdown pass to Jeremy Ruckert on the ensuing play, narrowing Detroit's lead to 24-16; Hall finished with 13 carries for 32 yards and caught three passes for 23 yards before exiting.
With Hall sidelined, the Jets immediately turned to Braelon Allen to fill the vacancy in the backfield; Allen replaced the starter for the third-and-goal play against Detroit.
Braelon Allen now sits atop the running back depth chart, with Isaiah Davis also available for duty; both Allen and Davis were selected by the Jets in the 2024 NFL Draft to bolster the rotation.
