- On Wednesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission declared former Pension Reform Task Team Chairman Abdulrasheed Maina wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
- This declaration follows Maina's repeated failure to appear at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja for his ongoing trial involving the alleged receipt of N738 million in stolen funds alongside civil servant Ann Igwe Olachi.
- Following a conviction in November 2021 by a Federal High Court, Maina served part of an eight-year sentence for money laundering before the Nigerian Correctional Service released him on February 25, 2025.
- Justice Abubakar Kutigi of the FCT High Court threatened to revoke Maina's bail due to prolonged absences, stating, "The antics have stalled proceedings completely."
- A PREMIUM TIMES investigation reported that Maina allegedly acquired properties worth more than $1.3 million in the United States and Dubai between 2010 and 2013 during the period he was accused of diverting pension funds.
