Boy, 5, dies in car while parents hosted party inside home… before BLAMING his teen brother for forgetting him in shock court hearing
Police said the family did not realize the boy was missing for about three hours before he was found unresponsive, officials said.

- Both parents appeared in Maricopa County Superior Court on Monday, each charged with negligent homicide and child abuse, both Class 4 felonies under Arizona law. A judge set a secured bond of $150,000 for each parent.
- Their defense attorney argued the incident was a tragic accident, noting the family had no prior criminal history. "This is a mother in pain," the attorney told the court, adding the parents cooperated with investigators.
- Peoria Police Officer William Kennedy urged "look before you lock" to prevent such tragedies. Both parents are scheduled to return to Maricopa County Superior Court for a status conference on September 21, with a preliminary hearing set for September 23.
