Bouquet Fire Near Santa Clarita Triggers Evacuations
The fast-moving brush fire prompted evacuation orders and warnings for several Los Angeles County zones as crews requested additional helicopters.
On Oct 3, the Bouquet Fire broke out in the Angeles National Forest northeast of Santa Clarita, burning approximately 100 acres and prompting Evacuation orders as flames pushed toward nearby structures.
The fire was first reported in the 34,800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, intensifying as an extended heat wave grips Los Angeles County and Southern California.
Authorities issued LAC-E018 LAC-E030 LAC-E031 Evacuation orders while issuing warnings for LAC-E019 LAC-E020 LAC-E021. Incident commanders closed Bouquet Canyon Road at Spunky Canyon Road and Texas Canyon Road.
Firefighters mounted a massive response, requesting Additional air tankers, two strike teams consisting of 10 wildland engines, and four hand crews to protect threatened structures.
