Frozen Buffalo Chicken Products Recalled over Inspection Issue
The frozen, not-ready-to-eat products were made without federal inspection and may still be in foodservice refrigerators or freezers, FSIS said.
- On Wednesday, the Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of about 24,900 pounds of frozen Buffalo chicken products from Boston-based Shanghai Ravioli Corporation.
- Shanghai Ravioli Corporation produced these items without federal inspection, bearing false marks of inspection with establishment number "EST. 18004," which lacks a federal grant of inspection.
- Impacted goods include 100-piece boxes of "Buffalo Chicken Rangoon" and 120-piece boxes of "Benedetto's Buffalo Chicken Mozzarella Stick" shipped to foodservice locations across Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
- Foodservice locations should discard or return the affected products immediately, as FSIS remains concerned items may still be in storage despite no confirmed reports of illness or injury.
- The issue was discovered during agency surveillance activities involving products produced between July 8, 2025, and June 29, 2026, with sell-by dates extending through June 29, 2027.
