Border guards of the Gintaras Žagunis barrier at the Dieveniškės loop in the Šalčininkai district have seized a smugglers' unmanned aerial vehicle. The homemade aircraft, which landed in a grain field, has a wingspan of about 3 meters, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) announced in a statement.
On Sunday night, officers of the Gintaras Žagunis border guard of the Varėna border detachment of the State Border Service of Lithuania (SSAT) used their anti-drone equipment near the border with Belarus in the Šalčininkai district, in the so-called Dieveniškės loop. The border guards did this after hearing the sound of a flying object, which was suspected of transporting contraband cigarettes from Belarus.
