Bobby Brink’s Mission: ‘Be Undeniable’ for Wild
Bobby Brink added a Game 1 assist and said he spent the offseason working to become a more reliable two-way option for Minnesota.
On Saturday, the Wild defeated Nashville 3-1 to open the season, with winger Bobby Brink recording an assist on a line alongside center Ryan Hartman and Yakov Trenin.
Acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers at last season's trade deadline, Brink—a former Minnetonka prep champion—joined Minnesota after the team traded underachieving defenseman David Jiricek to Philadelphia.
Wild coach John Hynes noted Brink has adopted an "all business" attitude this year, with the winger taking on more responsibility on the defensive side of the ledger without the puck.
After missing seven of Minnesota's 11 postseason games last year, Brink aims to secure a consistent lineup spot, stating he must "be undeniable out there and impact the game on both ends."
Playing alongside Hartman and Trenin, Brink praised his linemates, saying "Hartzy's so smart and good with the puck, and Trenny is just a physical specimen out there." They've been good to play with.
