The BMW Z4 Is Back and Is Called the Bovensiepen Spider
The limited-run roadster adds a tuned suspension, upgraded brakes and a luxury cabin, while orders open at €115,500, Bovensiepen said.
- Bovensiepen has revived the defunct G29-generation BMW Z4 as the limited-edition Spider, accepting orders for 99 units with deliveries scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2027.
- Production of the original G29-generation Z4 ceased earlier this year, but Bovensiepen—formerly known as Alpina—revived the roadster. The company continues manufacturing custom models like the 05 GT and The Zagato following BMW's acquisition of the Alpina name in 2022.
- Boasting 429 brake horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque, the Bovensiepen Spider delivers 47 hp more than the BMW Z4 M40i. The price reaches $134,260, nearly 52% higher than the previous Z4 M40i at $88,575.
- Developed in collaboration with designer Frank Stephenson, the Spider features a new front splitter, enlarged wheel arch vents, and rear diffuser. The company describes the result as "a sporty, elegant, and timeless design."
- The Spider rides on 9x20-inch front and 10.5x20-inch rear wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Customers can order an optional high-performance braking system with 395 mm front discs for enhanced stopping power.
