More than 11,000 Bottles of Blood Pressure Medication Recalled
The recall covers 11,460 bottles after federal records showed the tablets failed dissolution specifications and may not dissolve as intended.
Inventia Healthcare Limited initiated a voluntary nationwide recall of Chlorthalidone Tablets USP, 25 mg on June 5, with distribution by Rising Pharma Holdings Inc. of New Jersey.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, the medication failed dissolution specifications, meaning tablets may not dissolve as intended in the body affecting 11,460 bottles.
Affected products include 100-count bottles of Lot RISA24001 and 1,000-count bottles of Lot RISB24002, both with an expiration date of April 2027.
Patients should consult a pharmacist or healthcare provider if they possess a recalled bottle; consumers must not stop taking prescribed medication without medical guidance.
The FDA has not yet assigned a classification to the recall, and no public press release has been issued regarding the safety action.
