Switzerland is at a critical juncture where its neutrality policy will be redefined. In a referendum to be held on September 27, 2026, the public will vote on whether neutrality should be more strictly guaranteed in the Constitution. The initiative calls for staying away from NATO and other military alliances, and for sanctions against warring parties.
