KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers went to Edmonton for their first pick in the 2026 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft. With the eighth overall pick in the first round Wednesday (May 6) night, the Blazers took center Micah Montgomery. The 2011-born center scored 21 goals and 63 points in 30 games with OHA Edmonton’s U-15 prep team, good for fourth in Canadian Sport School Hockey League scoring at the U-15 level.
