Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni dispute over 'It Ends With Us' has not ended, as she seeks fees
Lively is still pursuing attorneys’ fees and damages over Baldoni’s dismissed countersuit, and a judge has not yet ruled on the pending motion.
On Monday, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni settled their legal battle over the film 'It Ends With Us,' avoiding a trial scheduled for May 18.
Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment; he countersued for defamation in January 2025, until U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman dismissed most claims last month.
Legal teams spent $60 million combined on litigation despite no money changing hands between the parties; both sides said in a joint statement they remain "firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties."
Lively maintains a pending motion for attorney fees and damages from Baldoni's dismissed countersuit; Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman called the settlement a "huge victory" for his client.
The case fuels broader Hollywood discussions on accountability and legal strategy in workplace disputes, highlighting industry debates over defamation claims used against sexual harassment accusers.
