'Black cloud over Edenderry' since arson attack
Gardaí released CCTV showing two hooded suspects and conducted over 150 investigative actions as part of a major probe into the fatal arson killing a child and great-aunt.
- On Saturday, a petrol‑bomb arson at a Castleview Park home in Edenderry killed four-year-old Tadhg Farrell and his great-aunt Mary Holt, 60.
- Investigators released CCTV showing two hooded individuals smashing a window, setting an object alight and throwing it into a Castleview Park home, which gardai described as a 'reckless, callous and murderous' arson attack.
- To date, the investigation team has carried out more than 150 investigative jobs, 250 house-to-house inquiries, retrieved over 60 pieces of CCTV and Tadhg's grandmother remains in hospital with serious burn injuries.
- Hundreds turned out at Derry Rovers AFC on Wednesday night, and An Garda Síochána pledged to support families and identify those responsible.
- Mourners walked the pitch perimeter four times, a lap for each year of Tadhg's life, with prayers led by Deacon Paul Wyer, and Anne English said, `For the whole community, we're just shocked but we're here to stand, to shine a light where the darkness is`.
