- Dasgupta announced one lakh government jobs, including 20,000 police vacancies, with a 33 per cent quota for women and a 20 per cent hike in dearness allowance from October 2026.
- The government will identify 1,000-1,500 acres of land near Kalyani to establish a new greenfield airport, addressing passenger congestion at the existing Kolkata Airport.
- Separately, the administration plans to introduce two Bills in the Assembly to curb public disorder and attacks on police, with Cabinet approval expected on Monday.
