BJP questions Rahul Gandhi’s ‘silence’ on flydubai incident, Captain Smit’s bravery
Sudhanshu Trivedi said Congress has not praised the pilot who saved flydubai flight FZ1073 after his co-pilot allegedly tried to crash it.
- On Sunday, The Bharatiya Janata Party questioned Congress over its "silence" regarding Captain Smit Machchhar, who thwarted an alleged attempt by his Omani co-pilot to crash a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai flight on September 30.
- Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi termed the lack of statement from Rahul Gandhi as "the Gandhi family's silent support to terrorism," alleging he was "terrified of the vote bank" unable to praise Machchhar's valour.
- Trivedi alleged "selective sensitivity," contrasting past Congress reactions to the Batla House encounter and Gaza with the current failure to offer sympathy for Captain Machchhar's brave actions.
- Highlighting an ideological divide, the party criticized the appointment of Imran Masood as Uttar Pradesh unit working president, citing his controversial past remarks regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Trivedi insisted the country should view Congress leadership's conduct seriously, claiming a vast gap exists between the values of Mahatma Gandhi and the Gandhis of today.
