Bipartisan lawmakers introduced the Physicians and Health Care Workers Act to exempt the health care industry from high H-1B visa application fees, aiming to address critical shortages of overseas doctors and researchers in the U.S.

The H–1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act—introduced by Rep. Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D-GA) and Rep.
