Big Ten distributes $1.37 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2024-25
The payout reflects the first full year of the Big Ten’s new television deal and playoff revenue, with Ohio State leading all schools at $91.57 million.
On Friday, the Big Ten Conference announced a record $1.37 billion distribution to its 18 member schools for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, marking the largest payout in league history.
A 55% revenue increase fueled by the additions of Oregon and Washington, combined with a new media rights deal and success in the 12-team College Football Playoff, drove the conference's earnings to nearly $1.47 billion.
Ohio State received a league-high $91.57 million and Penn State collected $88.92 million based on College Football Playoff participation, while Oregon and Washington received $48.4 million and $46.7 million as they transition to full revenue shares.
Penn State allocated nearly $18.4 million to "Institutional NIL Revenue Share" and entered the primary construction phase of a $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium, modernizing facilities scheduled for completion by 2027.
The Big Ten's $1.37 billion distribution surpasses the Southeastern Conference's $1 billion payout by $340 million, positioning the league as college sports' dominant financial power and establishing a high-revenue model for major conferences.
