H&M's Operating Profit Grows More than Expected in Q3
CEO Daniel Erver said cost controls and sourcing changes lifted operating profit to 6.04 billion crowns, above analyst forecasts.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Swedish fashion retailer H&M reported June-August operating profit of 6.04 billion crowns, surpassing the 5.14 billion crown mean forecast from LSEG analysts.
CEO Daniel Erver credited the improved profitability to rigorous cost control and operational efficiency, pushing gross profit margin to 54.0% from 52.9% last year.
Global supply chain disruptions due to conflict in the Middle East and logistics woes in Europe stymied third-quarter growth, leaving net sales broadly flat at 5.07 billion euros.
Trading with 2 percent fewer stores, the retailer increased in-season purchasing under Erver's strategy to react faster to fashion trends and boost speed-to-market.
The company expects September sales to increase 1 percent in local currencies, though Erver stated the firm sees "further potential to increase sales going forward.
(Teleborsa) - H&M, Swedish clothing giant, closed the third quarter with net sales growing to SEK 57,189 million (vs 57,017 in the same period last year).
