Polish-speaking journalist Andrzej Poczobut was released after five years of imprisonment in Belarus as part of an exchange of prisoners. The 53-year-old, who had reported on the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper and belonged to the Polish minority in Belarus, was arrested in 2021 and sentenced to eight years in prison in 2023. Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk personally welcomed him on the border.
