RB LJ Martin Sidelined for No. 10 BYU at TCU After Apparent Injury in First Half
Bear Bachmeier ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns as BYU improved to 4-0 despite losing LJ Martin to injury.
On Saturday, the BYU Cougars defeated the TCU Horned Frogs 17-10 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, improving to 4-0 overall.
BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier led the offense after starting running back LJ Martin exited with a lower-body injury in the first quarter and linebacker Isaiah Glasker departed before halftime.
Bachmeier rushed for two touchdowns, including a clinching 21-yard run with 2:06 remaining, while safety Faletau Satuala's 59-yard interception return set up an early score during rainy conditions.
"Bear just took over," BYU coach Kalani Sitake said after the game, as TCU quarterback Jaden Craig completed 18 of 25 passes for 187 yards but struggled against Cougar defensive pressure.
The Cougars next host Iowa State on Friday with a 2-0 Big 12 record, while the Horned Frogs, 0-2 in conference play, enter an open date before facing Baylor on October 17.
