B.C. Search and Rescue teams stream to Clearwater for rope rescue training

About 100 search-and-rescue members trained on technical rope rescue skills and leadership during the 7th bi-annual S.I.R.E. event, organizers said.

Search and Rescue (SAR) teams from across B.C. streamed to Clearwater over the weekend to train up for rope rescues. According to Tanya Chapman, volunteer with Wells Gray Search and Rescue (WGSAR) and organizer of the event, about 100 SAR members from across the province attended the training, which was the 7th bi-annual Southern Interior Rope Exercise (S.I.R.E) event held since 2013, in coincidence with the 50th anniversary of the team’s operat…
