The order of doctors' batonarium, Carlos Cortes, today defended a differentiated plan to fix professionals in areas such as the Alentejo Coast, where 30% of the population does not have support in primary health care.
According to the batonarium of the Order of Physicians, 30% of the population of the Litoral Alentejano has no access to primary health care. The health unit that serves the region has "about 25 doctors".
Between patient overload and urban/campaign imbalance, the ecosystem around family doctors is changing. In view of this, representatives of young practitioners are asking for strong measures from the authorities.
