Baribo scores a goal, Johnson has 5 saves for DC United in 1-1 tie with Montreal
Tai Baribo scored his sixth goal in seven games, and Sean Johnson made six saves as D.C. United salvaged a road point.
Tai Baribo scored Saturday night as D.C. United drew CF Montreal 1-1 at Stade Saputo, extending his goal streak to five consecutive games.
Prince Owusu opened scoring for Montreal in the second half from a penalty after VAR confirmed a hand ball by Keisuke Kurokawa. Baribo equalized in the 67th minute with a header off a Kimito Nono cross.
Sean Johnson recorded six saves to anchor United's defense, while Montreal dominated with 62% possession and outshot the visitors 19-8. Thomas Gillier made one save for the hosts.
Montreal remains winless in eight consecutive games following the draw. United stays unbeaten in its last six matches, though it has recorded just one victory in that span.
Baribo's five-game scoring streak positions him among the league's elite scorers, though his 12 season goals trail the 13 scored by Nicolás Fernández, Petar Musa, and Hugo Cuypers.
Upon his return to the field after two weeks of inactivity, the CF Montréal was limited to a 1-1 null verdict against the D.C. United at the Saputo Stadium.
