Former culture minister Balázs Hankó left Parliament for the prosecutor’s office on Monday evening after receiving a formal summons in a culture grant misuse investigation. His immunity had been suspended hours earlier, clearing the way for proceedings over the alleged misuse of more than $52.7 million in grants, which Hankó and Fidesz denounce as politically motivated.
