NASA's Roman Space Telescope Launches with BAE Systems-Built Scientific Instruments

- The Wide Field Instrument offers a field of view at least 100 times greater than the Hubble Space Telescope, enabling scientists to survey the sky up to 1,000 times faster, according to Bonnie Patterson, vice president of Civil Space.
- Roman will study billions of cosmic objects to explore how planets, stars, and galaxies form and develop over time; Patterson noted the observatory provides "unparalleled views of the cosmos."
- Contributing to future astrophysics, BAE Systems is supporting the Habitable Worlds Observatory concept, an early-stage mission designed to image Earth-like planets orbiting distant stars to search for signs of life.
