Badminton: Devika rallies to make Thailand Masters final

On Saturday, Devika Sihag reached her maiden BWF Super 300 final at the Thailand Masters in Bangkok, advancing as the unseeded 20-year-old at the USD 250,000 event.
Earlier she stunned top-seed Supanida Katethong on Friday, and her rise includes a maiden Malaysia International title and multiple 2024 finals.
Using improved net play and overhead drops, Devika shifted the match by reaching 8-5 and 11-5 in the second game before sealing it with a smash, forcing errors from Huang Yu-Hsun.
Devika said `It is my first Super 300 final`, and will face Goh Jin Wei in the Thailand Masters final, after her semifinal victory.
Currently ranked number 63, her run adds momentum ahead of a big 2026 season that includes the Commonwealth and Asian Games later this year.
