Backstreet battle over inner-city beer garden escalates to Supreme Court

The venue says reopening the lanes would force it to close, while council says the strips are still needed for public access.

Owners of The Fitzroy Beer Garden and its building are fighting to preserve their long-term unauthorised use of two laneways that abut its site at 243–245 Gertrude Street, and form part of the outdoor seating area.
