- During a night patrol near Dana Mandi in the Police Station Gate Hakima area, Harjeet Singh was shot dead by unidentified men on a motorcycle, later succumbing to his injuries at an Amritsar hospital.
- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore for the family, with HDFC Bank providing an additional Rs 1 crore in insurance coverage to support the bereaved.
- Authorities previously noted targeted attacks across the Border Range, including the killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector Joginder Singh in Majitha and two personnel in Gurdaspur, prompting officials to advise reliance on official channels.
