Disneyland Sets 2028 Opening Date for Avengers Campus Expansion
The expansion will add Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, with Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man for both attractions.
- Walt Disney Imagineering unveiled two new Marvel attractions for the Avengers Campus expansion at Disney California Adventure during the D23 Disney fan event in Anaheim on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
- Imagineering provided updates on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Honda Center during the Horizons showcase, revealing the expansion will double the size of the Avengers Campus themed land.
- Stark Flight Lab will utilize a robotic arm system to simulate flight inside an Iron Man suit, featuring Robert Downey reprising his role as Tony Stark. "You will be surrounded by massive physical sets blending seamlessly," Imagineering said.
- Avengers Infinity Defense will transport riders aboard a spaceship across the multiverse, challenging recruits to help the Avengers stop King Thanos alongside massive physical sets and media scenes.
- Both attractions are currently under construction within the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, with the expansion scheduled to open to guests in 2028.
