Landbridge Group, the Chinese company that owns a 99-year lease on the Port of Darwin in Australia, has filed for international arbitration in an attempt to prevent the Australian government from reclaiming the port. Both of Australia's major political parties have previously stated their desire to cancel the lease, citing national security concerns and alleging ties between Landbridge Group and the Chinese Communist Party.
