- As of Wednesday, 468 events of H5 bird flu had been detected across Australia, with 20 originating in NSW including a Hutton's shearwater at Corindi and a tern at Port Kembla.
- The strain has spread widely across Australia, appearing in Adelaide, Melbourne suburbs including Black Rock and Sandringham, Hobart's Acton Park, Moreton Island near Brisbane, and Mullaloo in Perth.
- Agriculture Minister Tara Moriarty reported no mass mortality events in NSW poultry, advising owners to ensure "no interactions between their chooks and pets with wild birds."
- NSW Environment Minister Penny Sharpe said authorities can support wildlife by vaccinating populations and protecting habitat, while the public should avoid sick birds and call the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.
