Ankara Chamber of Commerce President Gürsel Baran stated that while the fight against inflation continues, the real sector and exports must be protected, and called for a 3 to 6-month deferment arrangement for uncollected VAT on credit sales.
25 SEPTEMBER 2026- The last Joint Assembly Meeting of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) of the 29th term was held under the chairmanship of ATO Assembly Speaker Mustafa Deryal, with the participation of the Assembly and Committee members. In his speech at the meeting, Gürsel Baran, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATO, assessed the agenda of the economy and the real sector and gave information on the 47-month working period of the ODA.
ATO President Gürsel Baran stated that paying VAT before receiving payment on credit sales puts a strain on businesses' cash flow, and suggested that the VAT payment obligation be postponed for 3 or 6 months, taking into account the collection due date.
"While ensuring price stability, it is necessary to protect production, investment, employment, and trade capacity. As we have stated at every opportunity and in every forum, the real sector, production, investment, trade, and exports should not be neglected while fighting inflation."
