At bypoll rally, Vijay continues attack on Oppn DMK, AIADMK
Vijay accused the DMK and AIADMK of collusion and said TVK would deliver irrigation, drinking water and infrastructure projects for the constituency.
On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay campaigned in Dharapuram for the October 6 bypoll, accusing the AIADMK of betraying iconic leaders MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa by forming a "benami alliance" with the DMK.
TVK candidate Sathyabama joined the party after resigning her MLA seat, claiming she opposed AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami's "brazen" attempts to align with the DMK for government formation.
Addressing a crowd of 5,000, Vijay rejected horse-trading allegations, emphasizing that Sathyabama resigned before switching parties while 3,000 police personnel provided security.
Labeling the DMK an "evil force," the Chief Minister urged voters to reject opposition "lies" and support the TVK, pledging to complete irrigation and infrastructure projects in Dharapuram.
Positioning the TVK as the organic successor to late leaders Jayalalithaa and MGR, Vijay asserted his party will prioritize welfare for the poor, contrasting his approach with DMK family hegemony.
