Asda, Aldi, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons Issue Food Recall Alerts to Shoppers
The alerts cover undeclared allergens, plastic contamination and wrong use-by dates across products sold by major UK retailers.
Shoppers across the UK face urgent 'do not eat' warnings as the Food Standards Agency issued multiple recalls affecting major supermarkets including Aldi, ASDA, Tesco, and Morrisons over contamination and mislabelling risks.
Recalls stem from diverse hazards ranging from plastic or metal fragments in fishcakes and desserts to undeclared allergens including milk and gluten in crisps and yoghurt, prompting manufacturers like Walkers and MOMA Foods to pull items.
Walkers is recalling six-packs of Hot Honey crisps with batch code GBB 584 031 due to undeclared milk, while MOMA Foods pulled various porridge pots over possible mouse contamination at its manufacturing site.
ASDA is recalling its Exceptional by ASDA Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes for potential metal or plastic contamination, while Aldi pulled The Fishmonger Hot Smoked Salmon Fillets after mislabelling use-by dates as June 25 instead of April 25.
Customers should check cupboards and avoid affected products, as retailers offer full refunds without receipts; consumers can contact Walkers' helpline on 0800 274 777 or return items to stores for assistance.
