The theory that the pilots of the ill-gotten Flydubay Dubai-Tel Aviv flight were Russian and Ukrainian resulted from a joke in a closed press chat room. Immediately after the incident, a member of the WhatsApp*-chat for Israeli journalists suggested that one of the pilots could be Russian and the other could be Ukrainian. Later, the author admitted that he was just kidding.
