The Civil Guard has arrested a person linked to the corporate sector of table olives as alleged to have committed a fraud and other possible related crimes against heritage and socio-economic order, after allegedly swindling more than 1.5 million euros from producers and farmers in the sector in the provinces of Huelva and Seville.
The Civil Guard detains an entrepreneur for an alleged fraud of 1.7 million euros to 258 farmers in Seville and Huelva. In the records, high-end cars, 13 luxury watches and gold and silver pieces and ingots have been intervened. In addition, more than 1.2 million kilos of chamomile table olive have been immobilized.
The formalised complaints already affect 258 farmers and producers and amount to 1,765,220 euros The olive would have been sold and collected, but the money did not reach its producers, issuing promissory notes that were returned due to lack of funds
