The higher court ruled that the actions in the case should also be considered within the scope of the crime of "torture," and therefore the statute of limitations for this crime was lifted.
The statute of limitations ruling issued by the Bakırköy 11th High Criminal Court against 20 former judges and prosecutors, including fugitive former prosecutor Zekeriya Öz, has been overturned.
