The Central District Court in Lod sentenced Dr. Ilan Halevi to three years in prison, who was convicted of negligent medical treatment. Halevi was convicted after giving birth to many women in a pirate clinic he operated in his home, with some of the women he gave birth to having previously undergone cesarean sections - and home birth is considered dangerous for them.

Dr. Ilan Halevi was convicted, after an evidentiary process conducted by the Central District Attorney's Office, of the offenses of negligent medical treatment, illegal abortion and other offenses. The court increased the sentence, adopting a position that the use of significant financial sanctions should be expanded alongside long prison sentences, in order to undermine the desirability of committing criminal offenses.
Dr. Ilan Halevi, an obstetrician, established an illegal birthing complex in the yard of his home in Havatzelet Hasharon, continued operations despite prohibition orders and did not call for medical assistance in critical cases; the court sentenced him to 3 years in prison
