On Monday, Anthropic signed a $35 billion cloud computing deal with Nvidia-backed Lambda to expand AI capacity and meet growing demand for its Claude chatbot.
Infrastructure company Hut 8 is developing the Texas data center for the project, located in Nueces County, where Nvidia will hold the lease on capacity.
Anthropic has rapidly secured major cloud capacity agreements in recent months, including $45 billion with Nscale in West Virginia, $50 billion with Fluidstack, and $45 billion with SpaceX.
These agreements position Anthropic as one of the most significant customers for data center power, with each deal consistently tied to Nvidia, the leading provider of AI chips.
Lambda, which raised more than $1.5 billion in a 2025 funding round, is now raising up to $3 billion while targeting a valuation exceeding $12 billion, Bloomberg reported.
