A fire at a senior living facility in downtown Concordia forced the evacuation of eleven residents and the facility's manager. The incident occurred around midday on Friday at the El Buen Descanso nursing home, located on Quintana Street, a few meters from Sarmiento Street. According to Oscar Arce, president of the Volunteer Fire Department, who spoke to DIARIOJUNIO, "the fire started in the nursing home's laundry room and spread to other areas."
