An 85-Year-Old Woman, Whose Father Died in the Battle of Okinawa, Says She Can Finally Be by His Side, and Adds Her Inscription to the Cornerstone of Peace.

[81 years after the war] This year, 95 more names will be added to the "Cornerstone of Peace" in the Peace Memorial Park in Mabuni, Itoman City, which commemorates the victims of the Battle of Okinawa. Shizu Nerome (85) of Odo, Motobu Town, whose father, Seisuke Matsukawa's name will be inscribed there, said with tears in her eyes, "I'm happy that I feel like I've been able to connect with my father."
