Wisconsin has always been legendary for the amount of alcohol it consumes, and equally so for its tavern culture. We were the first state in the union to have an officially designated cocktail (the brandy old fashion) and in 2022, the Wall Street Journal reported that Wisconsin had 82% of the top 50 drunkest counties in the nation or 41 of the 50. Dane County ranked #26.
